I'm excited. I'm really excited.

I am. i just read a line
"Hello Dzmitry,
[******] sounds like it may provide some interesting opportunities for
you."

That got me excited because I think this may be a beginning of something. I just don't know, but will have to wait and see :)
Excitement is in the air. Along with Florence & the Machine.

Life is about today. Every day should be like that. No matter what we think, we just don't know what will tomorrow bring exactly.
And that's why life is beautiful.

"Dragon's Eye" Breakfast

Something i came up with this morning:

Dragon's eye:
*single serving* so add however much you think you'll eat.
Chop carrots, start frying them. (5 small carrots)
Chop cabbage, add into the pan. (2 fist full, chopped)
Add spices. I had garlic salt and dried lemon+dill. (little this, little that)
Fry on low fire until you think it's close to be done. (10min?)

Add yesterday's dinner noodles. (any type, boiled, of course)
Break an egg in the middle of pan. This is where placement talent comes in, and it might end up looking like an eye. Yellow intact, white all over veggies and noodles.
Cover, and cook your egg on low fire until it's done the way you like it. (fully cooked whites, slightly liquid yellows for me)
I also added shredded cheese on top.

Cooking, much like any art, is about continuously trying new things and experimenting. The more we do something, the better we become at it. Proficiency.

Temporary technician position?

type of chemistry to pursue?
Inerests?
forward to temp agency,
set up a call.

all this in one email from a person working in a company. I've never heard anything about it, but the website describes some great things about work atmosphere and ability to move from dept to dept. Seems interesting, I'll need to dig deeper into this.
I need to, simply for the experience of trying and exceptional exposure.

The girl went back.

It's only Wednesday. Though time flies when i am working with kids 9-to-4, where, most of the time i just listen and talk to kids, my week days seemed to be taking it's time. She came to visit on Saturday and left 4 days later, Wednesday. We enjoyed our company a great chunk of our times, except when i had to work :)
Life is going great, in general. I'm still not doing anything about "after" August, when my job will be finished. I don' know what's going to happen. I'm okay with that, because no matter what i think the day will bring, it gives me things i never thought about, with confidence.

Right now i thought i should create a list of places i would be, realistically, interested in living for couple of years, in couple of years. This does not seem intimidating.

Our minds think too much. Just think about what you thinking every now and then. Meditation does precisely that. I can see my progress through how easy i can clear my mind and not think. And how long i can maintain that state of mind. But that's less important.

enjoyed a movie

In Arts basement, bunch of us played (i actually won, which happens never) a mario party game.

In terms of movies i had a pleasure purchasing a ticket, i saw Kung Fu Panda 2 (Trivia: James Hong voices Mr. Ping) and Super 8. Kung Fu Panda was fun, but i didn't want to see super 8, thought i'd be a not-so-good movie. I was wrong. Super 8 turned out to be a great watch, even though main characters were kids.

tooddles.

Comments

- Dzmitry is a wonderful person who is very caring and self-assured. His confidence in the way he lives his life and in what he believes, combined with his natural curiosity and interest in many different aspects of life, from learning to hobbies to pursuit of pleasure, make him a well-rounded and very likable person. He seems as though he never has nor would ever do anything morally unsound, and is never anything but genuine.
- Very easy person to get along with and he is very inspiring. Though some people may not see all of his greatness at first, he is like a foreign fruit that you have to keep peeling in order to understand and discover how amazing he is as a person. He is someone who does not judge others about either appearances or knowledge. It is always great to be around with people like Dzmitry.

What does any of this mean? (like i know...)
Brand Personas:

(5) Evangelists exude passion and enthusiasm. They quickly inspire those around them with their fervor. They are typically very loyal to people, brands, ideas, etc. Evangelists can ignite a fire under those around them – compelling them to act. Evangelists’ passion is contagious and they have the ability to get those around them just as excited and energized as they are.

(5) Extroverts are true ‘people’ people. They are outgoing and seek to be in the company of others. They are often most successful when working with or around others. Extroverts can become depressed if they are alone for too long. They derive their energy from others. Extroverts often excel at networking, delivering presentations and hosting events.

(5) Movers are energetic, dynamic people. They seem to have limitless energy. For some, their energy comes from within. For others, it comes from being around others. Movers rarely sit still. They have little patience for slow, drawn-out meetings. They usually embrace change.

(5) One-of-a-Kinds are individualists. It is hard to describe them because they have a very special way of being. People often use words like as quirky, unique or colorful to describe them. They usually stand out from everyone else you know and are typically comfortable being themselves and don’t feel the need to conform.

(5) Thrill Seekers are adventurous. They like to take risk and abhor the status quo and things that are mundane. They are open to – and like to try – new things.

(4) Charmers have a way of making everyone like them. They have an innate ability to ‘charm’ those around them. They are generally likeable characters who can fit into almost any situation.

(4) Experts are often referred to as bright, intelligent or brilliant. They can be expert in a certain area, but can also be knowledgeable about a lot of things. People respect them for their intellect.

(4) Gymnasts are flexible. They can often see multiple sides to the same story. They are adaptable and can often change their style to be relevant to the task at hand. Gymnasts are typically comfortable in change and can easily switch gears when necessary.

(3) Calmers have a sturdy zen-like nature. They are often the calm in the storm and are almost unshakeable. They are easy-going in nature and although they understand the serious side of challenges, they’re rarely ruffled by it. Because they keep a level head even during stressful times, they are valuable members of teams.

(3) Optimists are positive people. They see the glass as always being half-full and often see the potential for it to be overflowing. Optimists are ‘can-do’ people who do not like hearing ‘it can’t be done.’ They can be seen by some as unrealistic or naïve, but their optimism is often one of their keys to success.

(3) Rocks are always there for you. You can always count on them. They have high intentionality and will do what they say they are going to do. Reliability is a core attribute of theirs.

(3) Smilers are naturally happy people. They have a positive outlook on life and are can often see the good side of any given situation. They have a smile for everyone they meet. Smilers are rarely down and their cheerfulness can be contagious.

(3) Truth-tellers are honest. You can count on their sincerity. When they speak, those around them know they can trust what they say. They are less prone to hyperbole or sugarcoating. Some truth-tellers are very frank and direct; others are more diplomatic. In either case, you can always rely on what a truth-teller says.

TO chill at friend's basement and play video games

This is what several people of various intoxication levels decided yesterday for today's agenda. It worked well. Mike even came out, and that was a true rarity to see him two days in a row(!). He's quite busy, you know. Yeah, nobody knows...

My dentist commented on how good my skin looked... I was surprised but justified it with a consistent vegetable intake. She agreed. My teeth are also fine.

I am trying to grasp these couple of days before work starts and i have to be on my feet every morning. I guess it's all a little surreal. I enjoy this ride and looking for more interesting events to enrich my life.

At last, a nice picture:

Halfway through June!

George and I are on the cover, holy smokes. You can also see Jeff, and part of Jason (roommates).
Check out the rest of pics Here.

This is a book that I'm currently reading. My mentor gave it to me upon graduation, and it's a really good book. All about lives of other people, their struggles and paths. Each story is only couple of pages long, so it's an easy read.

Now off to meditate for 15min.

How does time fly?

I come to realize that's it is only Tuesday (couple of hours into Wed. a.m.) yet with all the things going on (volunteering, hanging out, doing nothing, and more) I'd think I imagined it would be closer to end of the week. I caught that idea because i figured that on Saturday Michelle is coming to visit for couple of days and I'm quite excited to see her. Since i can not wait for it to happen, the time slows down, which is totally fine by me. ex-cited inela-borate gib-berish
I have Team Training Friday, and Dry Run Saturday. Maybe even bowling tomorrow.

I yet again encountered some people i haven't seen in couple of years. Things change :)
But improve, i think. I'm optimistic realist, if that's possible.

And what of the wrong title?

$8.92/hour (-fed. tax.)

Yepp, I got the job at the camp I worked during 2008 & 2009 summers. This should be interesting, because whichever kids remember me are grown up, and the older kids are trying out to be counselors by now.
I'm starting Monday. Since I'll still be working with children, this job is better than "a job" and much better than "no job", which is what i was looking at just couple of days ago.
I have had this odd feeling, as i was driving back from Joey's, about the job, but i just couldn't get my finger around it. I couldn't understand what i felt, but i think i am realizing that it's not a "summer job" anymore because i won't be going to school in the fall. I will just have to find another job or program or something else to do. What an odd taste.

My sister turned 12 this past weekend. She wanted a Wii and got one. I'm happy for her. I didn't have a gift, but she'll choose a person to donate $25 through this cool organization Kiva.org I think it's a cool idea instead of receiving a gift, which she probably won't use or like as much.

I have been running 1.5mi steady before breakfast for past couple of days, and I'm proud of myself for sticking with it. We'll see what's going to happen once i have to be at work at 8.30am. One day at a time :)

Let us be Belarussian.

A Great history "rap" video. Truly amazing animations, and a great way to see what the lands of Belarus have gone through.
And interesting how there is nothing after 1991, when today's dictator Lukashenko came into power.

It will never be the same as it once was.

my 11 year old sister (2 days shy of 12) is video chatting with her friends while playing minecraft with them online. They're building things together.
When i was 11, i would iron her blankets (we have 11 years difference) and help out in general with baby things. I didn't own a cell phone, though we did have a family computer which i used to play Alladin all the time. It just makes me wonder how much of a difference 10 years and a different country can make.

I ran for 2nd time today, again before breakfast. I ran for 8 min but this time a little bit further than i did yesterday. Then i had some green tea. Did you know that if you put lemon in your green tea, you get 13 (thirteen!) times more antioxidants from the cup compared to without lemon?

Boston College 2011 Slideshow

Judging by pictures, BC is comprised of 90% of white girls. Just saying.

First run

I was planning on starting running over the summer. I am pretty good at making habits but i just do not like running. I ran for about 7min with a little walk in the middle. I'm all sweating *it's 82 outside*, and i was wearing pants and black shirt. No fear, sweat is not my enemy. Laziness and procrastination are. I will create a little sheet (like a calendar) with check boxes on it each day i want to run, so I will want to check it, and have to run. I also ran before breakfast, just brushed my teeth and went for it.
I hope to eventually like running as it could be a great way to be mindful, and I'm all about that :)

Young and Old

The Kinder garden group where i volunteer couple of hours a day had a field trip today to the nursing home. They performed several songs accompanied by a guitar. There were about ten elderly women watching (and some dozing off) the show. I kept thinking how these 70+ people, who had lived a whole life and are now on the end of it, are in the same room with 5yr olds, who can barely do anything alone. The two ends of life spectrum have a lot in common actually, but I'm not going to get into it. An older woman was smiling and waving to kids, who were walking in circles around some of the audience, and waved back.

Now that I'm home, i would be able to get into some gardening and take care of some flowers and cacti. Check out what i brought with me from camping:

Best thing about cactus: if you forget to water it (however many times) it will still be okay :)

Great song stuck in my head.

Dog Days are over is also a good one of theirs :)

My life is beautiful

How can i ask more when I already have so much? My good friends, amazing girl, and supportive family. Sure, I don't have a car, but I also don't have kidney stones. Being grateful for what I have greatly enhances my experience of living. I smile, when i realize how lucky i turned out to be, all the decisions leading to present moment. I don't have a job. But I have people who love me, and that is way more important than a paycheck, not to say that not working is best, but that's its easier to get a job or move to another one, than "to convince" someone to love you. What are really important things in life? If i lose someone close to me, that would be hundred times more devastating compared to losing a $$ position. Though i never lost a job, not yet at least.

Weekends

Everyone enjoys a weekend, usually. The full flavor of the weekend can not be appreciated if you don't have "a job" (volunteering, learning, anything that takes up time Mon-Fri). I had to get up relatively early past couple of days, to which I am glad, because when Saturday came, i was so glad to sleep in. I still have things to do and finish up, but at least i am aware that it's the weekend. During other Winter breaks or times i didn't have responsibilities, days and dates would blend in, there would be no reason for me to know what day it, unless i wanted to see a new episode of South Park or Supernatural.

Cleaning up my room, getting rid of things i will not wear that are still in my closet. Going through some old junk, birthday cards. Stumbled on some freshman year reflections and writings. I skimmed through, and put it on the shelf, hoping for one day to re-read them and chuckle at my silly self. Same goes with my blogs.

I want to be a teacher

In my current understanding of work and vocation, I have realized (or however else found) that I want to be a teacher. Having no background in teaching, I am thinking about going into a program that allows me to teach and teaches me how to teach at the same time. Hopefully i will be looking into pursuing Masters in Ed.
Right now, I am looking into anything: tutoring, substitution, any experience that will help me be a better teacher.
I have been volunteering at the school my sister is attending, and they placed me in kinder-garden for now, because other grades were taking tests. What have i learned from 5 year olds? They're just kids, but adults are also just kids, only older. I will expand on this more as I finish unpacking (WTF?..) and settling my life in order. I was unable to do so because first weekend of freedom was spent camping at Assateague national park in Maryland. Wild ponies and kayak rides. Now that Boston native girl of my life has left the state, I can finally get some things done, i.e.
- Get my student loans in order
- write a poem (i guess it's on my to do list)
- Finish unpacking
- Upload pictures from graduation and trips
- Continue stretch and meditation
- Sort "college related" box
- Sort my closet and donate/throw away lots of things

This is just a beginning of a continuum of unknown unknowns.

Everything is connected. In Internet

This blog is a continuation of another blog i wrote Senior Chemist,. New blog, for my new chapter of life.
There will be somewhat frequent posts, 2-4/week regarding my daily routines and not so routine days. This is where I'm starting:

I am now an alumni.
